Another boycott response.

There is the response from Volkswagon. It might be a little bit of a double standard to my reaction to Omega but it almost reads like, “as long as our office in China opperates according to our policy, we won’t interfere.”  I also find China’s “One World, One Dream” a little frightening it sounds very communist.  Besides, I dream of a free Tibet.

Dear Mr. Hamel,

Thank you for your email.

We share China’s vision of One World One Dream and its promotion of the Olympic ideals of peace and friendship around the world.
To boycott the Olympics is to block a biannual chance at dialogue and peaceful unions between nations, and it certainly is not a
constructive solution to this issue but rather a reminder of importance of dialogue and diplomacy.

As part of the production network of the Volkswagen Group the joint ventures in China all meet the Volkswagen Group’s
conventions about sustainability and social responsibility.

The Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, the global group works council and the International Metal Worker Federation signed a
Social Charta on June 6, 2002 to define social standards in the worldwide operations of Volkswagen. They agreed on goals for the
countries and regions represented in the Group Global Works Council. Volkswagen Group China follows these principles accordingly.

Yours sincerely,
