I just started playing Fallout New Vegas and OMG I love it. I had to stop playing Fallout 3 halfway through and take a break because the bleak desolated environment was beginning to affect my mood. This is the same and it hurts, but it hurts so good.
Essentially the game takes place around the same time as Fallout3 but it is in the West this time. So far I have only played the game for a few hours but I love it. It has the same VAT (vault assisted targeting) shooting system which made the previous one so much fun. And now with the more realistic setting the game takes on a whole new dimension. Sneaking have proven much more important.
In the previous game I could just run around and run close to an enemy, pop into VAT and pop a sniper round into their head with a little damage, but now injuries take longer to heal and crippling wounds can only be healed by a doctor or doctor’s bag. Awesome.
So far I would give this game a 9.8/10. It doesn’t haunt my dreams yet, but I probably haven’t played enough.
