David Brown, who heads the task for on Governance and Cultural Change in the RCMP recommended that the RCMP get overhauled. This is good news because they obviously have some serious issues. CBC has a video clip explaining some of the suggestions including an omsbudsman for front-line officers.
While this is a step in the right direction, it is only a step. Not only do the RCMP need to change their culture and attitudes towards each other but the public as well. Police so have a tough job, but so do a lot of people. Hopefully this will make it better.
