Short day

The ferry was pretty uneventful. I was grouped together with the motorcyclists and we were the first to board and the first off. I ate on board and it tasted exactly like BC ferries! In fact the only real difference was that the smell of the air was different since it was a lake and not the ocean.

We passed through some neat islands where there are apparently numerous shipwrecks, and the mist floated around obscuring most of the voyage. It was easy to see why the early explorers would have thought they had found the Pacific, the Great lakes truely are massive..

At Tobermory I pulled over to let the traffic pass, put on sunscreen since the sun had come out and plugged in the earphones. I managed to make 90km despite not starting until 1:20pm. I stopped for the night at Hepworth, which has a Tim Horton’s and I ate dinner there while waiting for the thunder storm which had been brewing all day to pass. Luckily I already had my tent up and everything undercover so nothing got soaked. I went to bed early so that the next day I would be well rested for the final push.
